The Dubai event is the first leg of the FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup series, with a further seven events being held in Doha, Stockholm, Moscow, Berlin, Beijing, Tokyo and Singapore between October and November 2012. The competition programme in Dubai will consist of 34 races and will take place on Tuesday, October 2, and Wednesday, October 3, with heats at 9am and finals at 6pm.

The first leg of the 2012 FINA /ARENA Swimming World Cup will be held in Dubai and will feature racing in the short course (25m) format.
